Steven Smart always wanted to make a difference to the hairdressing industry. In 1999 his vision started to become a reality. In September of that year, the salon that he had always wanted was born, soon to become recognised as the best and most respected salon in the South West area. The salon was named HAIR WIZARD, the name that quickly became associated with Steven himself.
2008 saw a re-brand of the company, including the name change to SMART:EST 73; created from Steven’s surname and his year of birth, or the year he was established.

Wales and South West Hairdress of the Year
Only the second Briton ever to win the ultimate accolade. He is twice European Champion, a British Champion 7 times and is one of the most prolific British competition hairdressers ever. Now focussing on the British Hairdressing Awards, he was nominated at his first attempt as finalist for Wales and Southwest Hairdresser of the Year.
