Spring/Summer 2011

The last few seasons saw fashions making a transition from the strong 1940/50′s influence into the 60′s with the help of Tv shows such as Mad Men and the stars of these shows like Christina Hendricks. The hair of these eras was very dressed, structured and glamourous.
For me these were the most amazing times for fashion and hair. I am constantly influenced by looks from this period.
New for Spring/Summer 2011
I suppose that from the polished finishes of the past season the change would come in the form of a more undressed feel to the hair….enter the 70′s!!!
The 1970′s fashion that we are seeing all over the catwalk and now high street has pushed this seasons hair fashion into the more natural looks of that decade.
Centre partings, looser, softer waves. Flicks and Farrah Fawcett blowdrys have all been shown at the various fashion weeks.
Big waves, long length and voluminous body has shown itself to be the way to go!
Blow drying out straighter hair.
To get the look you need to apply volumising styling products such as Volumising Blowdry Gel from the Big Sexy Hair product range.
Using a dryer, Finger dry through the entire length roughly until completely dry then use a finishing product such as Sexy Hairs, Flip it Over to spray throughout. shake your head upside down as you spray then just Flip your hair back as you stand up. Separate the hair into a middle parting and leave down and loose.
A round brush blowdry using the same products will achieve that ‘Farrah’ look! soft, bouncy and sexy!
Blow drying for Curly Hair
For those clients with waves or curls spray Curly Sexy hair ‘Curl Power’ from roots sto tips…..finger dry or loosely scrunch dry for a slightly fluffy, full and natural texture. A shine spray over the finished style will enhance the waves and movement and show good condition even with the rough finish.
If you are feeling brave, once dry, gently brush through the mid length and ends for a de-constructed extra fluffy look!! for reference of this look check out Jerry Hall and Marie Helvin shots from their modelling heydays and Helmut Newton images for the very sexy versions!!
