Miss World Hair and Make Up team
November saw the Smartest 73 Team join the Official Miss World Hair and Make up team!
Joining stylists from Sexy Hair, EGO Professional and ID Hair we styled and made up the contestants of the worlds greatest Beauty contest! The event was staged at various locations around London with the lavish grand final at Earls Court. Boy band Blue and street dance crew Diversity entertained the crowd while behind the scenes our huge team worked with the 122 girls to prepare them for one of the biggest nights of their lives.
Working on the various stages of the event over a two week period, Debbie provided make up along side the Helen E make up artists and Steven, Kate and Stefanie were styling the hair of some of the worlds most beautiful women.
Using the amazing tools from EGO Professional to curl, straighten and dry the huge amounts of hair and to give volume, shine and smoothness with Sexy Hair Products the whole team excelled and produced fantastic results adding all those finishing touches to an unbelievable event.

Between the Smartest team we helped create the final looks for 11 of the top 15 Ladies including all hair and make up for 2nd Runner Up Miss Puerto Rico. also In our opinion the final tweaks we made to Miss Venezuela’s hair helped her take the title and be crowned Miss World!! every little helps!

Steven Smart is a finalist at the British Hairdressing Awards 2011.
Steven is one of six nominees in the Wales and South West Hairdresser of the year category at this years awards.
Each entrant must provide 4 photographic images of current and new looks for the coming season, these are judged and then the successful finalist must then provide a further 4 Images. The final collections of 8 images are judged and exhibited at Salon International in Excel, London October 2011.
This is the first time that Steven has entered a collection into these awards so to become a finalist is an incredible achievement.
The Winners will be announced at the biggest Hairdressing industry awards night that is held globally.
The Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London will host 2000 guests at the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry on the 28th November 2011

Smartest Stylist Stefanie Shields has gained a place on the Fellowship of British Hairdressers ClubStar Artistic Team.
This team is made up some of the most talented young stylists in the country and is created to enhance the skills of it’s members, to show the Teams techniques and styles to the Hairdessing industry and highlight the amazing work that the Fellowship does for the industry.
Stefanie’s winning look was a 1970′s looking big, soft and sexy Curly style….A flat, middle parting was enhanced with a row of big silver clips inspired by Alexander McQueen’s Autumn/Winter ’11/’12 collection
The Clubstar Team will appear on stage at Salon International and at other events around the country during the coming year and will be producing some amazing images from photoshoots in the near future.

The first weekend in April saw Steven and Debra Smart representing the Sexy Hair Brand at the new industry trade show, Professional Hairdresser Live 2011 in Manchester. The Sexy Hair stand was one of the brightest and most visited stands over the two days. Steven styled two models hair throughout the show, one showing the Healthy Hair range and the other showing the Big Sexy Hair range of products.
Soft sexy waves, big bouncy curls and shiny smooth finish was the look for the ‘Healthy Hair’ model. The Big Sexy Hair Products were shown off with a huge 70′s inspired Afro! In fact it was that big, we had to dress it out over the two days!! The models certainly caused a stir and the whole team had a great time.

Smart: Est Stylists Kate MacClellan and Stefanie Shields have both be presented with awards for outstanding achievement from their repsective colleges.
Kate was awarded a Medal of Excellence by the City and Guilds organisation at the City of Bristol College, during the annual Competition and awards evening.
Stefanie was awarded a certificate of achievement by Weston College at the annual awards dinner for her outstanding work as a level 3 Student.
